Itinerary

Day 1:Lake Manyara - We will meet you on arrival at Kilimanjaro (JRO) Airport, look out for your personal welcome sign, and we drive the approx 2.5 hours to Lake Manyara where you stay at a comfortable lodge with great views overlooking the park for the night with all meals included. Overnight: Lake Manyara, Meals: (_/Lunch/Dinner)
Day 2:Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Crater Rim - Leave your lodge after breakfast and drive to the stunning Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive. The extraordinary birdlife, burgeoning primate population and tree climbing lions are amongst the most important lures of the park. Mid-morning affords you a range of activities including mountain bike trails on the escarpment, canoeing and motorboat trips out on the lake, village visits and more. Enjoy a hot lunch before we drive on to your new lodge situated on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater itself. The afternoon is free at your leisure: the perfect time to go for a short walk around the crater rim or simply relax and drink in the views. Overnight: Ngorongoro Crater, Meals: (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Day 3:Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti - This morning you have an early breakfast as we then descend to the floor of the crater in the morning light before the crowds arrive. Often described as the ‘Eighth’ Wonder of the World, the Ngorongoro Crater is utterly spectacular and a natural sanctuary for over 25,000 animals, including the endangered Black Rhino. Around midday we ascend out of the crater and drive to Serengeti National Park, making a brief stop at the Olduvai Gorge Museum. Olduvai Gorge the 'Crater of Mankind' is world famous for the archaeological discoveries made there by Dr. Louis Leakey and Mary Leakey. Picnic lunch will be served at a pretty spot en route to Serengeti. This afternoon enjoy your game drive en-route to your Serengeti Luxury Camp or Lodge. We arrive in the evening in time to check in and freshen up for dinner. Overnight: Serengeti, Meals: (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Day 4:Serengeti - Your Serengeti adventure continues with a full day as you explore deep into the heart of the park. You can either head out for the entire day with packed lunch in tow or have a game drive in the morning, return to camp for hot lunch, and head out again in the afternoon. If you’re on the hunt for the ‘Big 5’ then the Serengeti’s vast, fertile expanse is the perfect territory as Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino can all be found - if you know where to look! Our expert guides have a minimum of five years’ safari guiding experience and know the park inside out so you can simply relax, enjoy the African landscapes and the magnificence of the wildlife. Return to your accommodation for dinner and then retire for the night. Overnight: Serengeti, Meals: (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Day 5:Serengeti - A second full day exploring the incredible wildlife of Serengeti National Park with morning and afternoon game viewing drive in the park. If you're particularly interested in seeing the Great Migration then your exact location within the park will be determined by the time of year you are looking to travel. Our Tanzania specialists will help you to determine the best location. Regardless of the migration, the Serengeti is simply extraordinary and is a staggering park for year round wildlife viewing. Return to camp before sunset for your final night beneath the Serengeti stars. Overnight: Serengeti, Meals: (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Day 6:Fly to Zanzibar - This morning you will be driven to the airstrip in the Serengeti from where you fly on a light aircraft to Zanzibar. You are met on arrival in Zanzibar and driven to your beach hotel where you stay for the following 7 nights on a half board basis to relax and enjoy consummate relaxation. Overnight: Zanzibar, Meals: (Breakfast/_/Dinner)
Days 7-12:Zanzibar - Six days to enjoy this exotic paradise at your leisure. Many travellers simply unwind and enjoy the sun, sea and sand, as worldly worries wash away. If you’re not content to just soak up the sun there are opportunities to explore further with diving, snorkelling and much more! In the water you can find the most beautiful coral landscapes and underwater life in both shallow and deep water. Another popular local activity is to venture out to some of the smaller islands on a traditional dhow boat. Overnight: Zanzibar, Meals: (Breakfast/_/Dinner)
Day 13:Today is your departure day and after breakfast we transfer you back to the airport for your return international flight to complete your journey. Many travellers will be flying back to London from Nairobi and there are direct flights routes from Zanzibar to Nairobi to connect you. Meals: (Breakfast/_/_)

The whole adventure was a brand new experience for us so its very hard to pick the most memorable part, the first time seeing all the wonderful flora and fauna, every safari trip ... If I was pushed to pick the absolute favourite part then it was the stay at the Mwagusi camp , a truly magical experience. Read full review

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Planet

Our local safari guides all have at least 5 years safari guiding experience and are experts at finding game while causing a minimum of disruption to the wildlife. Furthermore our continuous approach to training ensures that best practices are always continuing to evolve.

You will visit several national parks and reserves on this itinerary. In our detailed pre-departure travel pack we have included a note to remind you not leave any litter in the national parks and reserves – everything you carry in, you must carry out. Aside from the environmental damage, litter can be harmful to the wildlife.

Our UK office takes a leading role in setting the standards for an environmentally friendly work environment. We work with local government to recycle our waste and continually look for new ways to be greener.

People

Our cultural tourism initiatives, such as the Maasai village visit, are diligently structured so that they mutually benefit the community and the curious traveller. We encourage you to be proactive and respectful when engaging in such activities. We also remind you to always ask permission before taking photographs.

We employ local guides and support staff who we pay fair wages, often exceeding government standards which we still consider too low, and thereby remove the reliance on tipping from travellers for livelihoods.

Our accommodation choices make use of locally owned properties where possible and often include adventurous, authentic choices such as local homestays which therefore involve local people and their communities in the very fabric of our holidays.

We encourage all our travellers to research local customs and read your trip notes before you depart to ensure you are conscientious and respectful in a different culture.

In most cases we strongly recommend that you do not give money to children beggars. If begging is a successful enterprise, parents are encouraged to forsake their children’s education in pursuit of this opportunity.

Talk to us about packing for a purpose and see if you can get involved by making a small material contribution to the communities you are visiting. We have developed partnerships with charities and accommodations throughout Tanzania and are constantly working to extend our reach with the help of our travellers.
