Description of Tibet cultural tours

This fascinating two week cultural tour of Tibet takes travellers to many of the region’s most important monasteries that stand at high altitude overlooked by some of the tallest mountain peaks on the planet, including the indomitable form of Mount Everest.

A visit to Everest Base Camp by road provides further insight into the legendary tales that swirl around the mountain like Himalayan clouds with initial acclimatisation in Lhasa allowing travellers to get used to the altitude above 3650m.

Chances to meet pilgrims and monks making their way over mountain trails en-route to Buddhist monasteries and the seasonal palaces of the Dalai Lama conjure visions of life in Tibet untouched by the modern world with your final destination, Kathmandu, further adding to cultural enlightenment.

This two week small group tour is a must for anyone looking to become immersed within the mountains, culture and religion of Tibet on an easy going experience that’s also great value for money.

Our guide made sure that as well as the main sights, we also visited some more unusual things like the water powered incense factory. We were fortunate to be invited to visit our driver's home and share lunch with his family. Read full review

Planet and people

Our trekking company is wholly committed to responsible tourism. On our treks & tours, tourism helps improve the standard of living for the local people by generating income for the local community through purchasing of local products such as fresh fruits, handloom products, meat, drinks, and fresh vegetables and providing job opportunities.

As a tour operator, we are committed to responsible tourism as follows:

- By using local Tibetan guides and drivers.
- We encourage you to help preserve the environment by not littering and by taking all non disposable items back home with you.
- The tourism we support generates income for local communities. For example: By purchasing local products such as fresh fruits, handloom products, meat, drinks, and fresh vegetables and providing job opportunities etc.
- We give support to local schools by donating an amount of educational materials to children (to aid the condition of the school and it's students) and medical materials to the health posts. We also support Kvresthali Womens society by providing a certain percent of income from this trip to help adult literacy for women. A percentage also goes towards repairing Culvert Bridge and funding goat farming.
- Keeping a small group size of 04-08 people on this tour will help to minimize any negative impact it may have on environment.
